What is a Loss?

Sometimes, we have to sell our shares for a lower price than what we bought them for. This could be for many reasons. For example, we might need the money for an emergency.

For example, if we bought 10 shares for 2 rupees each, and then sold them for 1 rupee each, we would have lost 1 rupee per share. Our total loss would be 10 × 1 = 10 rupees.
